Interior Design for me is all about people and choices, colour and texture and if anything tops that then helping people achieve their interior dreams. Interior Design is about individualism from both a client and a designer’s perspective. A client approaches an interior designer to get that extra quality, edge and individual style. A designer wants to produce designs and schemes that are individual, comfortable and of a high quality.
Nicole has been fortunate over her 23-year career to have worked on some amazing projects and with some great people. Starting within retail and for a company with two royal warrants, Nicole’s career began in high end residential work in Buckinghamshire working in beautiful old listed houses to new build projects across the home counties and London.
Ten years on and an opportunity to work abroad Nicole, with her husband and two cats, embarked on a role in the UAE based in Dubai for a major developer. Managing a small team of designers together they worked on and completed some of the most prolific projects in the Middle East and the world. The Address Downtown Dubai, The Address Dubai Marina, The Burj Khalifa, Arabian Ranches and mixed use towers within the downtown area of Dubai. Moving to another developer in Abu Dhabi half way through her 9 year stay in the Middle East Nicole then managed projects such as the Saadiyat Villas, Saadiyat Beach Club, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheik Zayed Museum and the Saadiyat Golf Clubhouse.
Nicole returned to the UK with her husband, two cats, one daughter and two forty foot containers in 2013. After an initial period of rest and enjoying the English countryside again Nicole settled in Herefordshire and set up Design and Space in 2014.
Since then she has been lucky to work on several projects which have included a large multi million pound complete refurbishment of a 9,000sq foot country house in Worcestershire. Working with local trades, planning offices and suppliers, Nicole managed budgets, tenders, design and schedule, even getting involved in the landscape plans too.
